These 5-Minute Protein Pancakes Are About to Make Over Your Mornings

Protein-packed meals are ideal for getting those #gains, but do you know why a good meal is so vital post-workout? Not only does protein help repair the damage you did to your muscles during your workout (don’t worry, the damage is a good thing—it’s how they grow), it also supports your immune system and muscle recovery. At a cellular level, protein is used for just about everything, from carrying out the instructions of DNA to defending, preserving, and repairing essential life functions.

So if you need a super-delicious, easy recipe you can bust out in less than five minutes (um, who doesn’t?), try the one below from Grokker cooking expert Danielle Hayley. It gives you everything your body needs to build muscle and ramp back up for your next HIIT session, and you only need a handful of ingredients.

Healthy 5-Minute Protein Pancakes

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp nut butter
  • Oats
  • Protein powder (optional)
  • Butter or coconut oil to fry
  • Extra toppings (Maple syrup, berries, hazelnuts)

Blend all the ingredients together while preheating your griddle to medium heat. Pour the batter into the hot pan drizzled with butter or coconut oil to prevent sticking and cook about 2 minutes each side or until golden. Top with your chosen extras and enjoy.
