8 Reasons To Use Baking Soda For Wonderful Skin And Hair

Everyone wants to look beautiful and attract people’s attention. People often spend a fortune on cosmetic products and treatment which don’t bring results. However, they should turn towards some natural remedies that can improve our skin, hair and teeth.

Some of these remedies, like baking soda, can be found in every home. Baking soda can do wonders for our looks. It is a cheap and easily found solution. Here are a few tips on how to use baking soda for maintaining your beauty.

1. Exfoliates your skin

Baking soda can work great for exfoliating your skin. Many experts recommend it as an exfoliator to successfully remove dead skin cells and accumulated dirt. Mix one part of water with three parts of baking soda, and apply the mixture on any part of the skin. Rinse with warm water afterwards and apply your favorite moisturizer.

2. Cleans your hair

Baking soda effectively cleans your hair. Mix one spoon of baking soda with your favorite shampoo and apply it on your hair, gently massaging. Leave the mixture on for 10 minutes, then rinse it off thoroughly.

3. Moisturizes elbows and knees

The elbows and knees can become dry, especially in the winter, and baking soda is a great way to moisturize them. Put some baking soda in your moisturizer and massage the dry areas to effectively remove the rough edges.

4. Softens hands

Make a paste with some baking soda and water and apply it on your hands to soften them and remove the dead skin cells.

5. Whitens teeth

Baking soda works better for teeth whitening than any commercial product that claims it can whiten your teeth. Mix some baking soda with water and a little salt, and use it as a regular toothpaste. You can gargle some of the solution to prevent bad breath.

6. Neutralizes odors

Put baking soda in any place at your home to eliminate odors. You can also use it to eliminate underarm odor. Make a paste of baking soda and water and apply it under the arms to eliminate the bacteria that cause the odor. You can use it as a scrub to remove the tiny black spots that appear due to the use of antiperspirants and deodorants.

7. Fights acne

Baking soda successfully treats pimples and blackheads on the skin. Mix some of it with lemon and apply the paste on the affected areas. Use the treatment at night, as the lemon can damage your skin if it is exposed to sun-rays.

8. Soothes your feet

After a long day of work, baking soda can be a great way to soothe your feet. It relaxes them and removes the dead skin cells that are present on the skin. Make a mix of three tablespoons of baking soda and water in a bigger container, and soak your feet in it. The mixture will soothe your feet and maintain their health.
