Allergies: Tips, Symptoms and Types
Allergies is an inadequate reaction of the immune defense of the human body that occurs immediately or over time after repeated interaction (contact) between a person and an allergen. This phenomenon is quite common and can occur on absolutely any type of product, and not only.
The causes of allergies have not yet been fully studied by medical science, but the fact that the genetic factor is present as one of the main reasons has been proven for sure. Basically, the human body reacts so inadequately to a foreign protein, but it happens that it also reacts to carbohydrates, vitamins and fats.
The immune system is one of the body’s defense systems, the main purpose of which is to fight external aggressors such as bacteria and viruses.
The immune system of people suffering from allergies sees an aggressor (allergen) in a foreign substance and begins to fight it by producing a specific antibody of the immunoglobulin E type. These antibodies activate various cells of the immune system, mainly mast cells, and induce them to secrete various substances (for example , histamine, leukotrienes and cytokines) that cause an allergic reaction.
Type E antibodies are unique to various specific allergens, and therefore some people may, for example, suffer from allergies to olive tree pollen, while others from allergies to cat hair, milk, eggs, etc.
