Ovarian cysts are sacs or pocket filled with fluid within or on the surface of ovaries. On average, majority of women will have at least one ovarian cyst during their lifetime. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention reports that these cysts appear mostly during the perimenopause, while the percentage of ovarian cysts in women after menopause is 14.8%.

Although most ovarian cysts are not dangerous, they can still cause various health problem like bloating, menstrual problems with the cycle, nausea, lower back pain, vomiting, bladder pressure, painful intercourse, pelvic pain around period dates, and sometimes even infertility.
In most cases, cysts disappear naturally in a few months. But, there are cases when patients need to take medication or other remedies to shrink and eliminate their cyst.
Here, we present several effective natural remedies and advice to help reduce the size of your ovarian cyst. Make sure you consult your doctor before considering any of them.
Ovarian cysts can cause abdominal pain and muscle cramps, and heat is a great way to reduce these symptoms. Just keep a bottle of hot water or a heating pad on your lower pelvic area and abdomen for 15 minutes. Do this whenever you feel abdominal pain and repeat as many times as necessary.
2. Castor Oil Packs
This is an old treatment for ovarian cysts, and requires castor oil, flannel cloth, plastic foil, towel, and hot water. The oil will flush out the excess toxins from your body, stimulate your lymphatic system, and dissolve the ovarian cysts.
You need a flannel cloth with a size that will cover your entire abdomen. Fold the cloth to be 2 or 3 layers thick, and pour some castor oil. Fold it in half and then unfold the cloth. Place it on your abdomen while lying down on another towel to prevent messing your bed. Use the plastic foil to cover the cloth on your abdomen, and then cover it with a towel. Fill a bottle with hot water, and place it on top of the towel. Then, take a warm blanket and cover yourself well. Do this treatment three times weekly, for a period of three months.
A good way to remove the excess castor oil from your skin is using a mixture of 4 cups of water and 3 tablespoons of baking soda.
Note: Don’t do this treatment during your period, or after ovulation if you are trying to conceive.
3. Chamomile tea
This tea relieves the discomfort and pain extremely well. It’ll help you relax thanks to its sedative effects. Moreover, it’ll regulate your irregular period by stimulating the blood flow in your uterus and pelvic area. Boil a cup of hot water, and add two teaspoons of dried chamomile. Cover, and let it soak for 5 minutes. Strain the tea, and add a teaspoon of honey. Drink three cups of chamomile tea per day.

Soak the lower part of your body in the warm Epsom bath for half an hour, every day.

Consume this remedy every day on an empty stomach.
