Both acidity and alkalinity are measured based on the pH factor. Pure water has a 7, 0 pH value and is considered neutral. All pH below seven is acidic and above seven is considered alkaline.
However, when it comes to the pH of the human body, we cannot talk about the pH value of the entire body. For example, the skin has a pH of 5.5 (slightly acidic).
On the other hand, pH of saliva is around 6,5 – 7, 4 (range on either side of neutral). The digestive tract has a pH of 1, 5 – 7, 0 depending on the stage of digestion.
When we are healthy, pH value of our blood varies from 7, 35 to 7, 45 (mild alkaline).
The required balance of body is maintained primarily by the kidney and the lungs. However, chronic imbalance drains the strength of our body.
Why alkaline water?
Our bodies are based on water, which means the pH value affects our health and ultimately potential diseases.
The importance of alkaline water in the modern era
Because our typical “modern” diet which is mainly consisted of processed foods, including salt, sugar, caffeine and alcohol – most of our bodies are too acidic.
Signs of too much acidity in the body are fatigue, headache, abdominal pain and a weakened immune system.
If the environment in our bodies becomes too acidic or alkaline, our healthy cells can become toxic. This imbalance in pH erodes tissues.
If this too acidic environment continues to go on, the body in connotation deposits excess acidic substances in some parts of the body, in an attempt to become alkaline.
As stated, the acidity increases in some areas and some cells die. However, others may continue to live, adjust or turn into cancer cells.
Dead cells contribute to creating a cycle, so you yourself become acidic. Malignant cells grow indefinitely and without order, over time they can be extended to other parts of the body, otherwise known as metastasis.

How to make alkaline water?
The water is alkaline when its pH value is adjusted around 8 or 9 as a base.
What follows in this article, is a simple way to achieve an alkaline effect on your body:
- 1 jug of clean filtrated water (2L)
- 1 organic lemon (wash it and cut it into eighths)
- 1 teaspoon of Himalayan salt
Method of preparation:
Put the cut lemon pieces in the jug of water (do not squeeze the juice). Add the Himalayan salt in the water and cover. Let the mixture stand still overnight (8 to 12 hours) at a room temperature.
Drink three glasses of the water in the morning as soon as you wake up. This will provide great alkaline balance in your body.
