All the ingredients are simple and easy to get, especially in the folk medicine: lemon, ginger and honey.
Everybody is familiar with the advantages of the lemon, which in addition to vitamin C, also contains organic acids, improves the immunity and it is recommended for colds, while the ginger is absolutely magical and multi-beneficial root.
The using of ginger stimulates the mucus secretion and thereby relieves the cough and the pain in the throat. The ginger has anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-toxic properties, and therefore it is used for prevention from flu and colds.
The ginger is also anti-histamine, and it is therefore used against allergies. The ginger has anti-inflammatory properties.
The chemical compounds which are contained in the ginger, are useful in preventing the process of biosynthesis of prostaglandins, which is responsible for causing inflammation.
For the preparation of the antiviral drink you will need:
- 2 small lemons or 1 big lemon, with the peel
- 1 medium ginger root
- 1 glass jar
- 200 ml of raw honey, according to your taste
Wash the lemon, peel the ginger. Cut them into small slices.
Put them in a blender. Add the honey and stir. Put the mixture into a clean jar, close it with a lid. Keep it in the refrigerator.
You can take one tablespoon a day, and for children 1 teaspoon a day. Also, you can add it into tea and other hot drinks.
