Ginger Ale Recipe for Pain: Reduce Chronic Inflammation, Pain and Migraines

Ginger is often used by thetraditional holistic practitioners to treat ailments ranging from nausea to arthritis pain. It is widely known for its ability to reduce vomiting and nausea, but the ginger has many more uses than you may think. For over 2,000 years, ginger has been used in China to help treat nausea, arthritis, stomach problems and heart conditions.

It also reduces pain, chronic inflammation and migraines. Ginger has been shown to help treat diabetes complications, ulcers and gout. Shogaol and Gingerol, two ingredients ofthe ginger, are found to be the main active compounds that are responsible for the many health benefits of the ginger.

Ginger is rich in potassium, which is very important for the function of the heart, and in manganese, a mineral that makes the body resistant to diseases and protects the lining of the circulatory system and the heart.  Ginger contains silicon which is responsible for the healthy teeth, hair,skin and nails. It contains Vitamins C, E, A, and B complex, along with sodium, calcium,  iron, magnesium, phosphorus, zincand beta-carotene.

Ginger helps relieve nausea, and indigestion

The usage of ginger in helping the body to relieve the symptoms of nausea has been popular for thousands of years.  It is widely known for its ability to help with nausea and indigestion, because of its many useful compounds like antihistamines and antacids.

Ginger reduces pain and inflammation

Ginger has been shown to soothe muscle pain, same as back pain.It also reduces inflammation. Women have been able to find relief from the menstrual pain. Relief from the migrainepain has also been experienced.

In many studies the ginger appears to have analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. Modern scientific research has revealed that ginger is able todirect the anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting the formation of inflammatory compounds.

Helps relieve cold and flu symptoms

Ginger  acts as a decongestant as well as a antihistamine. When treating a cold or cough with ginger, all you have to do is combine it with tamarind leaves and boil it in hot water, than crush it and mix it with honey.


  • 2 cups of purified water
  • 1 cup of peeled, finely chopped ginger
  • Sparkling water
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • Raw honey for taste
  • Lime wedges for garnish

How to make it:

  1. Boil the 2 cups of water andadd the ginger. Reduce the heat to low and leave the ginger to sit in the simmering water for 5 minutes
  2. Remove it from heat and filter it through a kitchen strainer.
  3. For serving, combine ginger syrup with the sparkling water in 1:3 ratio and serve it over ice. Sweeten itfor your taste with raw honey (or raw stevia) and some lime juice. Try it and Enjoy!
